This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Highland is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Highland is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We don't have much experience with Filipino food, so we ordered one of the platters that had lots of different choices on it. It was amazingly delicious, and even though we came hungry, four of us couldn't come close to finishing the platter for "4-6" people. We had the leftovers today for lunch, and still haven't finished! So, I would say that platter would have reasonable servings for 6-10 people, depending on your appetite. The highlights for me were the lumpia, the pork adobo, the fried fish (two kinds), and the garlic rice. Everything else was also delicious, and the foods other diners had looked and smelled amazing! Service was friendly and helpful, and the ambiance was inviting. I really appreciated the world map and info pages on the wall so I could help my kids to understand where the food came from. We're looking forward to coming again to have some of the things we didn't order this time.

My lovely wife and I went here for lunch on the way to Minnewaska to celebrate our Anniversary. The hostess is very welcoming, attentive, kind, and overall a great person. We ordered the Pork Sisig and Pancit. My wife was so happy in how the Pancit tastes like home. It is not overly sweet with oyster sauce, and yet very flavorful. The Pork Sisig is very crispy and blends well with the peppers and onions. We both enjoyed our lunch here!

Excellent food but do not try to make a reservation online on Resy or any other platforms - they do not actually take online reservations!!! I was coming in from out of town and had a reservation for 7:30 p.m. my train ended up coming in earlier so I changed the reservation to 6:30. When I arrived I told them the name of the reservation was under they were not able to find it. They asked me if I had made a reservation online and I said yes and they said oh you shouldn't have done that because we don't look at those. My companion and I ordered and the food came out promptly. It was all hot and fresh and well-made and delicious. We got the lumpia rolls and pork and fish sisig dishes. Everything was soooo good and the portions were huge. The dessert menu also looked really good but unfortunately they were out of basically everything so we were not able to order. We got to around 7:30 p.m. and another couple of people came in saying that they had a reservation for 7:30 but the server told them that they did not take reservations online and that they had no record of their reservation and that actually the restaurant was about to close so they did not seat them. I guess I am glad that
